From my extensive experience as a startup founder, I have a diverse skill-set covering all aspects of startups and digital/business strategy. I enjoy working on meaningful, mission-driven projects, surrounded by people I respect in a strong team environment. Through strong relationships and execution I like providing tangible value and results to help companies grow and thrive.
Product, marketing and people are the areas where my skill-sets are most prominent. I consider myself a full-stack marketer, meaning I’m a highly competent copywriter, skilled email marketer, and adept at all other areas ranging from social media marketing to landing page design and everything in between. Having been in the trenches founding my own startup, I also love to get involved in product strategy, business development and operations. This is all underpinned by communication and the desire to connect the right people with the right solution.
My startup experience:
I co-founded a company called Zealify. We helped some of London’s best startups and SMBs with their employer branding and hiring. The Zealify platform served as a way for job seekers to discover exciting companies and job opportunities. With Zealify we raised seed funding from notable Angel Investors, participated in Oxygen Pre-Accelerator, received national press, helped tens of thousands of job seekers discover new jobs and more. As a co-founder I was involved in all aspects of the business and led the marketing strategy.
I have a Business Management degree from the University of East Anglia. I’ve also participated in various courses including ‘Advanced Entrepreneurship: Startup Boards’ by Stanford University. I’m also a certified Inbound Marketer by HubSpot.
Writing & Speaking:
Alongside writing for the Zealify blog, I maintain a personal blog on my entrepreneurial learnings and I have also written for sites like Entrepreneur Handbook and Recruiter.com. I have also delivered guest lectures at various UK universities on startups and entrepreneurship including Nottingham and Royal Holloway. I have also been invited to speak at various industry events.
Whilst not working, I love learning new skills through reading or podcasts. I like watching sport, although I prefer to be playing; you might find me on a golf course, 5-a-side pitch, or a ski slope. I’m also currently training for Tough Mudder.
