Head of Marketing at Leapsome. Previously Growth Manager, Europe at Udacity and Co-Founder at Zealify. British living in Berlin.
I’m a marketing & growth specialist with expertise working at the intersection of marketing, product, data and strategy to drive user acquisition/lead generation and top-line revenue growth. I have experience in high-growth environments at both late-stage and early-stage startups as well as founding a startup. I enjoy working in meaningful, mission-driven companies where I am part of a cross-functional, international team solving the challenges experienced by growing companies.
I have a diverse marketing skillset spanning the full marketing stack including paid acquisition, email marketing, lead generation and nurturing, marketing analytics, data analysis, content marketing, SEO, copywriting, HTML & CSS, organic social media, conversion rate optimisation, product marketing, partnerships, growth models, and more. Having been in the trenches founding my own startup, I also love to get involved in product strategy, business development and operations.
I spent 3 years in the European offices of Udacity, the Silicon Valley based technology education company. I was hired to build out the market-entry initiatives in the UK and soon after relocated to Berlin to form the European-wide marketing team. In my role as Growth Manager for Europe I focused on all areas of student acquisition with a focus on the UK & DACH Markets in which we grew bookings 130% in 18 months.
Prior to Udacity, I co-founded a company called Zealify in London. We helped some of London’s best startups/SMBs with their employer branding and hiring and also helped tens of thousands of job seekers discover exciting job opportunities at great companies. With Zealify we raised angel investment, built a small team, and reached “ramen profitability” for a while but we also made a number of mistakes resulting in the business being shut down after ~3 years of operations. My co-founder, Lauren Hine, summarised our mistakes learnings in this Medium article.
I love learning new skills through online courses, reading and podcasts. I also like watching sport, although I much prefer to be playing; you might find me on a golf course, 5-a-side pitch, or preferably a ski slope. I’ve also run a few half marathons in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
